sometime it feels like
everything is draining away
and I don't even care

lively party music
acoustic counterpoint
to comatose drunks

hatred
is a big source
of energy

sometimes
i really wished
i could cry

i considered briefly
buying something to eat
but didn't feel like puking

caught in a maze of turnpikes
going every which way
but none in the right direction

if you think it's inconsistent
you just don't understand
the pattern

happiness is mandatory
for off-season visitors
of the beach by the sewer
